Abstract


KORONAVİRUS PANDEMİSİ KAPSAMINDA MEDYA ETKİLERİ: TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Inspired by the world agenda and forming the world agenda, the media used the coronavirus issue as the basic material in 2020 and created an effective agenda all over the world. In this study, the effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic, which started in late 2019, on humans were investigated, and the publications of the media on Coronavirus and the effects of these publications on humans and the reactions to the publications were evaluated. Researchers in Turkey, living in 23 provinces and have informal conversations via social media with randomly selected 820 people. and the media were asked questions about the pandemic and responses were evaluated. The world has experienced one of the fatal disasters in its history starting from the end of 2019, and a dangerous epidemic has spread rapidly all over the world. In the epidemic that suddenly emerged and spread, many countries did not realize the danger and suffered great losses. The virus, known as Covid 19, has spread to all mainlands with its deadly character. The media also played an active role in the pandemic process, which affected all areas from economy to social life, and provided information flow with the Pandemic Diary. People who perceived the Corona danger, watched the epidemic process from the media closest to them and tried not to leave the agenda. During the Corona days, the media conveyed the developments regarding the pandemic continuously and effectively. A study conducted in Turkey, people living in Turkey, media have revealed reactions and criticisms against his publications about the pandemic. Turkey is in talks with people living in different cities through social media, reactions demonstrations against the publication in the media of the pandemic were evaluated. Most of the individuals participating in the study stated that they watched the developments regarding the global epidemic on television or social media, and they stated that they were angry with the contradictory information and comments in the media, and they generally liked the public spots and warnings about the pandemic. The reactions to the broadcasts of the media in the Corona days also reveal the characteristics of the society, express the importance it attaches to social values and expectations from the management. Prof. Dr. Sedat Cereci from Hatay Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Communication in Turkey conducted a survey on the relationship between Corona and the media, the approach of the Turkish society to the subject and the attitudes that it has had for a long time have been revealed. While Turkish society did not trust the contradictory information and comments in the media, it did not welcome the warnings of people living far from social implications. The policies and practices followed by the state regarding the pandemic are generally approved, and the speeches of people who are not directly involved in the issue are not approved. Turkish society has followed the media closely throughout the pandemic and evaluated media broadcasts in accordance with their traditional characteristics and values.
